Scientific Interests

My research is focused in the study of the evolution of galaxies and clusters of galaxies. These studies are being carried out in collaboration with astronomers from Canada, USA, South Africa and Europe.

Currently I am working on several complementary programs with the aim of understanding the processes of galaxy formation and evolution.

- Find and study clusters of galaxies in an area of 1000 sq deg. The Red-Sequence Cluster Survey 2 (RCS2).

- Study the galaxies in rich clusters at nearly half of the present age of the universe.

- Use the gravitational potential of the clusters to study distant galaxies.
