Ohio State Atomic Astrophysics Group: From Anomalous Nebular Abundances to X- Ray nanobiomedicine, Maximiliano Montenegro (PUC)
The Ohio State Atomic Astrophysics Group is a long tradition group involved in high accuracy calculations of atomic data. In this talk, I will present preliminary results of recent calculations of OII data that aim to explain the discrepancy in abundances of elements in gaseous nebulae derived from collisionally excited lines and recombination lines. In the second part, I will talk about our partnership with Oncology Medicine department of The Ohio State Medical Center in a project to improve the diagnostic and treatment of cancer with the combination of X-ray radiation and high Z nanomaterials.
