Santiago calls Asiago: real time remote observations from PUC-Chile to Asiago Observatory-Italy (Rodolfo Angeloni, DAA-PUC)

After a brief historical introduction I will describe the facilities available, and the research activities currently conducted, at the INAF Astronomical Observatory of Padova, Asiago (Italy). With the aim of promoting didactic and scientific collaboration between the Dept. of Astronomy & Astrophysics (DAA) of PUC and the Asiago Observatory, we will perform remote observations in real time with the Asiago Schmidt 92/67 Telescope directly from the DAA seminar room. As a working example of such a collaboration, I will show the use of the Schmidt Telescope for the simultaneous optical monitoring of the variable stars under studies in the context of the VVV Templates Project (www.vvvtemplates.org).
