The Optical Turbulence Effects in Astronomy (Amokrane Berdja, CTIO)
During this discussion, I first present some of the main aspects of the optical turbulence and its effects on astronomical imaging. I will emphasize on the optical turbulence temporal evolution, probably one of the most dramatic aspects of the astronomical observing techniques through turbulence. The proposed model can be seen as a first step for modelling the optical turbulence temporal evolution beyond the Taylor Hypothesis limits. I will then present the current efforts to characterize the ground-layer turbulence effects and our participation in CTIO and ESO with the LuSci instrument.
