The success of the ground based transit searches combined with the results from Corot and Kepler space missions  are leading us to a brand  new picture on the formation of hot Jupiters, more precise upper mass of planets, and clarification of the nature of super-Earth planets. I'll describe the key aspects and results obtained by  the WASP survey and I shall present the NGST ground base transit survey facility built to explore the range of Neptune size planets.
