New version of crowded-field photometry package DoPHOT, by J. Alonso-García, Millennium Postdoctoral Fellow @ DAA, now available to the astronomical community

This is an updated version of the known computer program to obtain PSF photometry from astronomical images, written in the 90s by P. Schechter, M. Mateo, and A. Saha. You can get a complete and deep explanation of its main characteristics from the article "DoPHOT, A CCD Photometry Program: Description and Tests" (Schechter et al. 1993, PASP 105, 1345). This distribution's new features are listed in Appendix A in "Uncloaking globular clusters in the inner Galaxy" (Alonso-García et al. 2012, AJ, 143, 70), and include, among others, improved compatibility with the standards of Fortran90, improved internal selection of usable pixels, updated treatment of aperture correction, an option to allow variable PSF models, and an option to perform aperture photometry.

The source code can be downloaded from here. If you are using the code, please, acknowledge the two papers Schechter et al. (1993) and Alonso-García et al. (2012, AJ, 143, 70) in any resulting publication.
