Obtaining data taken at the 2.2m telescope

Raw data

Raw data can be retrieved from the ESO archive. There might be a delay of up to two days, but data usually appear almost immediately in the database.

On this site, you can click on a night in the schedule or a programme ID in the programme list for direct acess to the ESO archive.

Proprietary data (science frame less than one year old) need you to login into the ESO User Portal as the principal investigator. In some cases, the generic MPIA accounts MPGUtility and MPGDDT have been used.

In the control room, raw data can be copied from the FEROS, WFI, or GROND workstations. Recent data are stored in ~/DETDATA. An scp can be performed in a terminal of these machines towards your own device provided you have the SSH server activated there. With a Debian-like linux, you can use the following command line: sudo apt install ssh

Pipeline-processed data

FEROS pipeline-processed data can be obtained using the FEROS/HARPS pipeline-processed data query form. In the control room, they can be transformed into fits and copied from the Data Reduction Software workstation. A script called ~/bin/FEROSdata.py is available to transform into FITS, then you can scp to your device.

GROND pipeline-processed data can be obtained with agreement of the GROND team (contact: Arne Rau).

WFI has no pipeline.
