I am a PhD student in Astrophysics, working at the Institute of Astrophysics of Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile in Santiago. My supervisor is Prof. Felipe Barrientos. I am enrolled in a double-degree program with the University of Heidelberg in Germany, and co-supervised by Joseph Hennawi at the Max-Planck Institute for Astronomy.
My primary research interest is the study of structure formation in the distant Universe. In particular, my PhD thesis project is about quasars environments at z ~ 4. I am working on the identification of the most massive proto-clusters, which will likely evolve into the most massive galaxy clusters at z = 0. My thesis is based on a large amount of data taken with 8m-class telescopes. I also have experience in studying the dynamics of galaxy clusters at lower redshifts (0.2 < z < 0.9)
