The Astronomy and Astrophysics Department at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica, is part of the international network LENAC.

LENAC is a funded project sponsored by the Alfa Programme (América Latina - Formación Académica) which promotes co-operation between higher education institutions in Latin America and Europe.

This project aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and expertise between the centres of scientific excellence, to promote joint research programmes in areas of common interest and to train young researchers in advanced computational and observational techniques, by providing access to world leading facilities.
